BBC SCHOOL REPORT-NEWS DAY

A number of yr 8’s and yr 9’s have been producing reports for the BBC website. The 21^st March was the actual news day where we uploaded all the stories we have made. We have all worked hard to complete all the articles within the set time. This experience gave us a chance to be responsible and mature and some of us have learnt how to edit and add different effects to videos, and have learnt how to use a camera properly. We have gained knowledge of how to put together written reports and video reports. We have also learnt that working together as a team, we can get much more work done than working alone. We have learnt never to give up and to try again when we don’t succeed. We know now that we have to plan first, and not to go straight ahead without a base. All of us have gained experience and we have had a fun time together. I personally would highly recommend joining BBC School Report as you will gain different techniques and a unique experience.

It is that time of year again and Sainsbury’s are launching Active Kids from 30th January and continuing to the 22 May 2013. If you shop in Sainsbury’s we would be grateful if you could collect vouchers and hand them in to your class teacher or form tutor. There will be a prize for the class or tutor group who collect the most vouchers.

Active Kids vouchers allow the PE Department to buy extra equipment that will benefit all the pupils in the school.

Food Hampers

Thank you for the amazing response to the Food Hampers collection. We gave out 40 hampers mostly to Saunderton Lodge. Each hamper contained food basics and was made special by the gifts of toys, chocolates, biscuits and toiletries. The donations by Mr Quigley (store manager of Tesco) of mince pies and sweets ensured that every hamper had some Christmas goodies.

One Can Trust Collection. 

Even with creating 40 hampers we still had food over to create a ‘Food Mountain’ to give to the One Can Trust.
